(ANSI VIEWER FOR WIN32 V1.0)

Key Functions :
---------------------------------------------------------------

 M = Show/hide menu
 B = Show/hide scrollbars
 F = De/activate full screen
 O = Open ANSI file
 V = View ANSI file
 S = Save image
 P = Print Image
 D = Font dialog
 X = Exit

"Save and Play" = Capturing ANSI pictures > 25 Lines.
                => slower
"Stop @NewPage" = Scrolling stops at a new page (for reading)

SPEZIAL: "GIFpv" button
Shows all GIF files in the directory . If you click on a file
name the preview shows the graphic . By double clicking you
could open an ANSI file with the same filename as the GIF.
Example: Dialog shows "My.GIF" => "My.ANS" is loaded.

Settings & Options :
---------------------------------------------------------------

System       =  Windows95
DOS FontName =  "TERMINAL"
DOS FontSize = (little differences in the characters)

               (Large Font)       (Small Font)
    ============================================
     640*480 : Not supported Not supported
     800*600 :      4,11            5,6,12,14
    1024*768 :      4,11            5,6,12,14

(Test Computer: Pentium,32 MB)

Supported:
---------------------------------------------------------------

- ANSI or ASCII pics with ESC's setting color or char position.
  (NOT supported: All other ESC's)

- Animated ANSI and scrolling ANSI pics
  (NOT supported: "Blinking" Text, "Home" when pic scroll's)

- Capturing large ANSI pics
  (NOT supported: Saving all pics of a animation)

Known Problems:
---------------------------------------------------------------

- Picture is only particularly shown
  (File contains unsupported ESC's) => Pic not supported

- Characters are different to DOS
  => Only "TERMINAL" Font can show DOS chars.
  => Characters depend from Screen and Font size (try, try,...)
     Tip: 800x600, Large Screen Font, Terminal "11", fullscreen

- Printing doesn't work
  => not all printers are supported.
  (save and print with an other program)

- your graphic editor couldn't read the GIF pictures
  => Images captured as GIF87a
  (use a other program or look at options/import)

- Scrolling is to slow
  => The program needs a lot of resources. The main aspect is to
     capture long ANSI files. Use DOS to see the image faster.

Example:(800x600)
---------------------------------------------------------------
1.) Start the program ;-)
2.) Press the "open" button and doubleclick "example.ans"
3.) Press the "font" button and select "terminal,size=11"
4.) press the "B" key (scrollbar hidden)
5.) Press the "M" key (menu hidden)
6.) Press the "F" key (full screen)
7.) Press the "V" key (shows the ANSI)

Number 3-6 must not be used.

Many2one.exe:
---------------------------------------------------------------
A separate tool which makes one image of the captured pages.

1.) select a directory
2.) select the files by pressing the left mouse button
    or using "STRG".
3.) "Create" the image.
4.) "Save" the image

- Use this tool carefully. If the created image is to large
  your computer could be out of memory.
- All images should have the same size.
- supported format: GIF (GIF87/89a = saving)
- Before using the "Cut" funktion you must set a rectangle!
  Click two times with the left mouse button on the canvas to
  set (left,top) and (right,bottom) marks.
  (If you click more than 2 times without cutting the procedure
   restarts.)
- "Resize" works always with the visible canvas (not with the
  original image) This means if you resize a picture to 1x1 and
  after that back to the original size you will see only a solid
  fill.
- All changes are only virtual. Selecting the original file in
  the directory resets all changes. You must "save" the canvas
  to make the changes effective.

Greetings to:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Joe Fisher. Thank's for telling me so much about ANSI. Without
your help this program would not exist. :-))
